In March 2020, construction work commenced on the Town Council’s initiative project to build the UK’s first purpose built , environmentally friendly Crematorium, with 120-seater chapel and electric cremator, as opposed to one fired by gas. Alongside there will be a new cemetery, with 2,000 burial plots and cinerarium.

Computer Network Services Ltd were invited to provide Data Connectivity, Network Infrastructure and Telephony at the new Huntingdon Crematorium and Cemetery.

DATA CONNECTIVITY

High speed Internet connectivity was paramount for the installation to provide all the management and media streaming services required.

Security is enforced with the installation of a Zyxel Security appliance including Unified Threat Management. Limiting access to malicious websites, protecting from Malware and Virus attacks.

WiFi covers the site for visitors to connect and share media with family and friends.

Deployment of Zyxel NWA1123–AC Wireless Access Points were deployed and managed via Zyxel Nebula Cloud.

The Zyxel NWA1123-AC HD 802.11ac Wave 2 Hybrid access point supports a combined data rate of up to 1.6Gbps.

This permits remote changes to be made without the necessity to visit the facility disrupting proceedings. Access to the Huntingdon Crematorium and Cemetery Guest network is obtained from personnel onsite.

TELEPHONY

Building upon the telephone system deployed within Huntingdon Town Council the Crematorium and Cemetery connects directly to the Town Hall and Community Centre.
