CNS Spotlight: Stuart Garside

Stuart Garside has been part of the CNS team for over 12 years, and if you ask anyone here, they’ll tell you he’s the definition of dependable. Calm under pressure, quietly confident, and always willing to roll up his sleeves — Stuart is the kind of team member every business wants but few are lucky enough to have.

We sat down with Stuart to get his thoughts on the job, the team, and what makes CNS different.

So Stuart, what do you enjoy most about your role?

“I like the fact that no two days are ever quite the same. There’s variety — one day it’s a password reset, the next it’s something more complex. I get a real sense of satisfaction from solving problems and getting people back up and running. I also appreciate that if I get stuck, there’s always someone I can ask. We’ve built a team where backing each other up is just how we work.”

How would your friends describe you?

“Fun, loyal… and busy! I’m a realist more than anything. I don’t sugarcoat things — I prefer being honest and straightforward. I think that comes across when I work with clients, too. They appreciate it when you just tell it like it is and get on with it.”

What makes CNS stand out?

“I think the difference is in how human we are. We’re not a faceless helpdesk reading from a script. We actually listen. We try to understand the issue and help in a way that suits the person. Some people want all the details, some don’t — and we’re fine either way.”

Outside of work, what keeps you busy?

“Travel, when I can. I’ve been lucky enough to explore some great places — Alaska really stands out. I also enjoy little wins, like figuring out a new formula in Excel. I’m not hugely into networking or certain areas of IT, but give me a challenge and I’ll always try to get it done.”
